the last moths...

there are still a few moths moving around in slow motion in my apartment. they're very easy to catch. one thing i don't understand is their affection for floating in pools of liquid. don't they know they can't swim? more than once i've found one in a pool of water in a bowl in my kitchen sink. it looks like it's dead, but you move the bowl or touch it, it moves. then i of course pour the contents out and down the drain, moth with it. this afternoon, one had landed in my cold cup of tea. i didn't see it since it matched the color of my milky tea. but then i pulled out the tea bag with my fingers and voila! delicious moth!

reckon

tonight i’m walking backwards
when dirt dusts my steps

maybe i fell through a trap door

and time became questions
that trail me

up at byrdcliffe

this was where i stayed while in woodstock. it's an artist's colony - the housing was built in 1902. they close it up after the film festival; there's no heating system set up...bbbrr. i would have liked to stay there longer and kept quiet in the mountains.

woodstock

i spent the weekend in woodstock - my short film "honored" screened there. i wrote a bit about my experiences in the filmmaker magazine blog...there's more to be said, but for now, pictures...

and i was being so blasé...

this morning i decided to really investigate the cabinets. they've been unattended for the whole summer and well...lookee what i found!!!! a whole bloody town inside a cream of rye cereal container left from this winter! i feel slightly nauseous and every time a wisp of my hair moves on my shoulder i'm freaked something is crawling on me. these are merely caffeine hallucinations, but aagggggghh!

they live!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok..preparing dinner for the first time in months. i had sesame seeds in a spice container. thought perhaps i would season my greens and tofu and.. !!!!!!!!! jeezus !!!!!!!!! container has since been disposed in trash.....

death to the pantry moth!

i haven't laid pheromone traps or anything, they're just dying on my stove. good riddance. i don't understand how they suddenly manifest in a sealed bag of rice or nuts. i have to seal all my food in plastic containers, i don't even eat it. it's more like a dollhouse display in my cabinets, awaiting proper placement. there are still a couple moths flying around though...and a worm on my ceiling. anyone have a match?
